The main itinerary of this trip was divided into three parts: visit to InvesTaiwan Service Center, five prominent corporations, and tour to cultural attractions. At InvesTaiwan Service Center, the staff explained to participants about investment procedures in Taiwan, work-related points system, and existing program for foreign students. MiTAC specializes in system integration services for smart cities including smart library, transportation, healthcare, and school. MiTAC has successfully satisfied their customers from different countries by providing solution services. CTCI Corporation gave us a heartwarming welcome. As one of the leading EPC firms in Taiwan, CTCI has been undertaking significant projects internationally. We had the opportunity to walk around inside the headquarter building to see their working environment. Advantech is a top company that specializes in industrial computer and branding business. The business direction also crosses over to the popular field of Internet-of-Things (IoT). Their goal is to apply technologies in areas of Industry 4.0 and smart cities. During the visit, the staffs have showcased its products and showed us the working environment. Rhymebus runs generator, AC inverter, and electric motor business. Their prospect project called R-Rider, which is a joint development with universities, claims to produce electricity to fulfill building electricity needs. HIWIN has successfully devoted resources to R&D innovation and brand innovation, and numerous awards were addressed to the company. Last day included a relaxing tour to cultural attractions. In the morning, we visited the Sun Moon Lake which is a beautiful scenery combined with gorgeous landscape of hills. In the afternoon, we visited Miaoli Hakka Culture Development Center to learn about historical Hakka culture. In conclusion, the enterprise visit was really useful for foreign students to get a deeper understanding of Taiwanese corporations, business philosophy, vision, industrial development, which all help to motivate foreigners to pursue careers in Taiwan.
